What’s your creative outlet?

We went to my parents yesterday, I will talk more about that in a post I’m currently working on. Having a creative outlet is very important. As is usually the case, Lily and grandma got out the art stuff. What’s your creative outlet?

Pinecones

Lily had spotted some drawing grandma had been doing, and wanted to help her finishes them off. I really love the pine cone picture. Grandma is really good at art, even if she doesn’t like to admit it. I spend time doing art with Lily, but it’s good she gets time to do it with someone who is good. The artistic flare wasn’t passed down to me. I have an unsteady hand and a serious lack of patience.

grandmas daffodils

My mum sat with Lily and sketched these daffodils off in a matter of minutes. Then claims not to be very good. Lily was colouring in these daffodils, which are lovely.

Lily’s daffodils

I have got together quite a large pile of Lily’s art, she likes to leave it all other the place. But I’ve rounded a lot of it up. One thing I have noticed, is she seems to start a lot of work and leave it unfinished. Maybe it’s supposed to be like that, every artist has to have there style I guess. I will look at it with her, and see if she what’s to finish things off before sharing them.

It is so important to have a creative outlet. I found mine with writing, Lily has her art and Jack likes making videos. He makes some on TikTok at the moment and really wants learn how to make them himself. Click here to see one he made. What’s your creative outlet? I’d love to hear about them in the comments below.

My name is Adam. I live with my partner Natalie, and our 2 children Jack and Lily. Both children are autistic, it is now my mission to show what life around autism is like. Spread the awareness and gain the acceptance that autistic people deserve.

Yeah I love it, especially when it’s a blank piece of paper and they are free to just do what they want. You never know what they’ll come up with.

My creative outlets would have to be writing and colouring! Me and my mum can sit for hours with a colouring book 😊

Creative outlets are so important, like you said. I’m trying to help my little boy to discover what his is!

Lovely drawings and colouring. I’m not much of a drawer, but I love to sit somewhere nice and do those adult colouring books.

There’s no better creative outlet than art in my opinion, it’s great to see Lily enjoys it so much.

Beautiful. I love drawings like these because they are so original and devoid of opinions and judgments.

What pretty flowers! Even the sketches have a simple beauty to them.

My creative outlet is writing, which lets me build a picture without struggling with a pencil; I have never been able to draw well, though I have tried. 🙂

Great post! This is very sweet. I love writing and reading, and my husband enjoys creating fantasy football-related content, which allows him to be both strategic and creative in one of his hobbies. Thanks for sharing!

First of all, how cute is the whole Lily and Grandma collaboration?!? I m new to travel blogging so my answer should be related to that; however, after pondering your question (and conferring with my 18 year old daughter) I think my creative outlet is fashion. Apparently I have a profuse collection of clothing and I get pleasure from assembling outfits. It’s fun and low pressure.

I crochet and weave, and have recently taken up kind of sketchy doodling and watercolours, but truly suck at the last one, lol! Crochet is my main thing – has saved my sanity (just) for a few years now!

Making stuff is always cool, I’ve never been much good with that sort of stuff, but I’ll attempt every now and then, sometimes it’s just the process of trying that can be fun and save your sanity 😊

Lily abandoning her artwork reminded me of the DaVinci quote, “Art is never finished, only abandoned.” Surely she’s living up to her true artistic nature.

My creative outlets include writing, baking and playing piano. Drawing is a skill I’d like to pursue, but as my Dad says, “The only thing I draw well is flies.” Working on it. 🙂

      I love that quote!!

I can’t play any musical instrument, so that’s something I’d love to do. Piano would be cool.
